The creators of Java programming language loved good coffee so much that they named it Java. Java programming language was created to connect disparate systems on different platforms. Java is general purpose, simple, and it has strong community.

Roots Coffee Company founder Shahid Saleemi is a seasoned Java engineer. Based on the same principles as Java, he and his wife Anila Saleemi want to provide a community gathering place for everyone. 
 
They are based in Sacramento and raising their family here. Their young daughter Zaina Saleemi also has her mark on every inch of Roots Coffee Company. They all believe in exceptional hospitality that is enshrined in their cultural traditions and family life.
